Assistance & Support for Georgia's Struggling Families

Hope and Love for Families of Georgia, Inc. is a 501©3 organization and registered in the State of Georgia (EIN 65- 177111). Those receiving short-term assistance from Hope and Love include families experiencing hard times because of unemployment, health problems, domestic abuse, or seemingly impossible obstacles through no fault of their own.

Our Vision/Goals

Reach more to struggling families, humanize the poor and homeless, encourage the forgotten, the invisible. Expand our services to include financial education, resume design, job referrals, literacy enhancement, and healthy living.

Our Mission/Keymileston

Food distribution to underserved and struggling families who did not know how and where their next meal is coming. Food is a necessity in our lives. If people do not eat, this may lead to malnutrition, stress, and sickness. Also, lack of food affects children's learning and education that is why we focus on making food more available to families.

Hope and Love Volunteers

Partnership

Hope and Love also assist other homeless shelters in Metro Atlanta who has a similar vision to us.

Hope and Love is diverse

the members, volunteers, and those who receive assistance. Hope and Love do not discriminate. We also offer volunteer opportunities to anyone who wants to be involved. Additionally, we offer opportunities to teenagers in school who want to earn community service credit for graduation.

What We Do

Since Hope and Love was established, we have served hundreds of families and children in need. Every month we contribute boxes of tissues to homeless and transitional centers. We often organize small goody bags with snacks, water bottles, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and words of encouragement.

We offer food, used clothing and shoes, school supplies, toys, and toiletries depending on the need. Some families are given a Wal-Mart or Target gift card and assistance with rent and utilities (paid directly to the landlord or utility company), and provided on either a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis, regardless of the individual.

Dedicated to Help

We are dedicated to helping families who are struggling to get back on their feet, those who seem to have "fallen through the cracks and are trying hard to provide for their families." We also coordinate service and support with other non-profit organizations whose vision and purpose align with ours.

Ongoing Activities

Collect household items and clothing from donors, occasionally purchasing food and donating it to various shelters around the city and making monetary donations to seniors who are on a fixed income.
Make and give healthy goody bags to people on the street frequently. These bags contain snacks, water, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and notes with words of encouragement. The notes remind recipients that they are loved and not forgotten.
Assist a local church in filling up several back-to-school backpacks, which are distributed to schoolchildren whose parents are unable to afford all the school supplies.
Collect and distribute toilet tissues and toiletries to the shelters as these become available at our office.
Assist families with holiday gift cards and baskets and sometimes assist with partial rent and utility payments if the funds are available.

What Makes Us Different from Other Non-Profit Organizations

Hope and Love is a small organization with a big heart.

None of our members receive any salary or financial compensation.

We do not shy away from helping anyone who needs our assistance if the resources are available.

We quickly make the decision to help anyone in need. We do not go through a lot of processes before the decision to help is made.

We do not limit our services to a particular county.

Ever since we were established, we have never received any government grant. God has been providing for us.
